Hey Gang,
This past Wednesday night, I watched Sean Hannity interview a woman named Kristi Noem.  She is running for the at-large congressional district in South Dakota.  She is intelligent, articulate, and has a clear vision about how she would like to serve the people of South Dakota in Washington.
Kristi Noem is the latest in what has become a VERY long list of fantastic Republican women candidates.  Michelle Bachmann, Linda McMahon, Niki Haley, Christine O'Donnell, Meg Whitmann, and Carly Fiorina are not only wives, mothers, and successful career women, they all have one thing in common, and that is that they are scaring the whatsis out of the left..
But wait a minute.  Wasn't this what Gloria Steinem and the rest of the NOW gals told all of the women of my generation that we should be?  We should WANT and EXPECT to be superwomen.  We should WANT to, as that old perfume ad said, "bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan".  Does this tempting offer of female exceptionalism only extend to women with a "D" after their name?  Is it only those women who have the "correct" view on things like healthcare, the environment, immigration, etc., those pillars of the feminist movement who get to fulfill the dream of "having it all"?  All these GOP women have achieved all this and more, but they are labeled as "mean", (classy, very classy Maureen), vapid, or the best one yet, "whore".
It is truly inspiring to see these women take on the establishment, and define, I think, what feminism really is.  I am so proud!  You go Girls!!
